TMRO Foundation was created in response to a fundamental problem: traditional philanthropy suffers from opacity, high overhead, fragmented accountability, and impact that can be difficult to verify. Our response is to operate with precision, security, and trust — while directing capital toward regenerative abundance.
What We Believe
We believe that trust is not a marketing claim — it is an operational requirement. In a landscape where many charitable organisations ask donors to believe without being able to verify, TMRO offers something different: a system where every decision, every transaction, and every outcome can be traced on-chain.
"Not another foundation or trust — a foundation you can trust."
— TMRO Foundation
Our Transparency Principles
TMRO's transparency framework rests on four core pillars: on-chain governance (all decisions recorded immutably on the blockchain), open treasury (Bitcoin reserves visible and auditable by anyone), impact tracking (real-world project completions measured against stated objectives), and public reporting (regular updates on allocations, milestones, and outcomes).
DAO Blockchain Governance
Our DAO governance model provides transparent, on-chain, immutable records of decision-making and transactions. This is not only about financial transparency — it is about trust. Stakeholders can have greater confidence that resources are used in alignment with our stated mission because they can independently verify every action.
Capital can be held, allocated, monitored, and reported in ways that are more open and accountable than conventional systems. This means donors, partners, and community members alike can see exactly how their contributions are being deployed and what impact they are creating.
Key Governance Features
Immutable records — All treasury transactions are recorded on-chain and cannot be altered retroactively. Community participation — DAO stewards have governance rights and voting power over major decisions. Smart contract automation — Where possible, allocations and distributions are bound by code rather than discretion. Regular audits — The treasury and governance processes undergo periodic review to ensure integrity.
Bitcoin-Standard Treasury
TMRO's Bitcoin treasury provides a base of stored value that is transparent, decentralised, and resistant to erosion. By holding reserves in Bitcoin, we align our capital base with the principles we promote: transparency, sovereignty, accountability, and long-term thinking.
The treasury reached a milestone of 100+ BTC in late 2024, reinforcing our ability to support projects across all 10 investment pillars with patience rather than urgency, and with strategic focus rather than reactive fundraising.
Impact Measurement
We believe impact should be measured, not assumed. Our approach combines on-chain transaction data with off-chain project reporting to create a complete picture of how capital flows from treasury to real-world outcomes.
Each project we support is expected to demonstrate clear objectives, responsible stewardship, and measurable outcomes. We track metrics including: people reached, ecosystems restored, technologies deployed, communities engaged, and educational programmes delivered.
Public Initiatives
Our Lightning Network Grants programme provides funding for developers building instant, low-cost Bitcoin transactions for financial inclusion. The Costa Rica Alignment Hub serves as a prototype for a global network of regenerative living spaces. These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to funding infrastructure that compounds over time.
"We are not simply imagining a regenerative future. We are building the financial foundations to help make that future real."
