About TMRO

What is TMRO Foundation?

TMRO (Tomorrow Foundation) is a DAO-governed impact fund reimagining philanthropy for the regenerative age. Built on a Bitcoin-standard treasury with transparent governance, TMRO directs capital toward projects creating measurable real-world impact across 10 investment pillars including technology, education, environment, and community development.

Who founded TMRO Foundation?

TMRO Foundation was founded in 2018 by James Florance, a crypto investor who recognised that blockchain technology could solve the antiquated, inefficient, and often opaque ways traditional foundations and charities operate. His vision was to create a transparent, accountable philanthropic organisation.

What does TMRO stand for?

TMRO stands for Tomorrow Foundation. The name reflects the organisation's forward-looking mission: building a regenerative future where capital serves life, technology serves humanity, and communities become aligned around the creation of tomorrow.

What is TMRO's mission?

TMRO's mission is to unify humanity by funding impactful projects and disruptive technologies, advancing decentralised solutions, fostering education, and democratising access to resources. The foundation builds a regenerative global paradigm grounded in abundance, alignment, and cooperation.

Governance & Treasury

How does TMRO's DAO governance work?

TMRO uses DAO blockchain governance to provide transparent, on-chain, immutable records of all decision-making and transactions. This creates accountability through verifiable systems rather than promises. Stakeholders can trace how resources are allocated and what impact is achieved.

What is a Bitcoin-standard treasury?

A Bitcoin-standard treasury means TMRO holds its primary reserves in Bitcoin. This provides a transparent, decentralised store of value that is resistant to the erosion often experienced in legacy financial systems. The treasury is designed to preserve value across generations while supporting regenerative impact projects. Learn about our 100 BTC milestone.

What are TMRO's 10 investment pillars?

TMRO's 10 investment pillars are: (1) Philanthropy, (2) Technology, (3) Bitcoin, (4) Community, (5) Financial Inclusion, (6) Education, (7) Environment, (8) Arts, (9) Emergency Response, and (10) Governance. Each pillar represents an area where capital can be directed toward meaningful human and ecological progress.

Alignment Hubs & Programmes

What is an Alignment Hub?

An Alignment Hub is a physical regenerative space where education, innovation, wellbeing, technology, and community transformation converge. The first hub opened in Costa Rica, serving as a living model for abundance-based living and a prototype for a global network of regenerative spaces. Read about the Costa Rica hub.

Where are TMRO's Alignment Hubs located?

The first Alignment Hub opened in Costa Rica in 2024. TMRO's vision includes developing additional hubs worldwide, with planned locations spanning regenerative living spaces, technology centres, ecological restoration sites, and knowledge hubs — each reflecting the needs and culture of its location.

How can I apply for a TMRO grant?

TMRO offers grants through programmes such as the Lightning Network Grants initiative. Applications can be submitted via the Fund Tomorrow contact form on the website, selecting Project Submission as the engagement type. Projects should align with one or more of TMRO's 10 investment pillars and demonstrate clear impact potential.

Get Involved

How can I support TMRO Foundation?

You can support TMRO through fiat donations (USD, EUR, GBP), Bitcoin donations direct to treasury, becoming a DAO steward with governance rights, deploying capital as an institutional partner, submitting projects for funding, or applying for residency at an Alignment Hub.

What makes TMRO different from traditional foundations?

TMRO differs from traditional foundations through its DAO blockchain governance (transparent, on-chain accountability), Bitcoin-standard treasury (decentralised, inflation-resistant reserves), direct impact measurement (real-world project tracking), and regenerative philosophy (patient capital for long-term transformation rather than short-term aid).
